| The ministry of "Changing Our Community"started with a God given vision, and simple obedience to help those in need, to be the hand of God extended about four years ago. The ministry began by helping a few folk around and associated with the church. The idea of clothing the naked, and feeding the hungry. As we obeyed the Lord, the needs began to grow and the ministry has expanded. It has now grown into a full emergency pantry. In 2008 we were able to feed over 3300 people. That is many families in Horry county that were blessed, fed, and helped because of faithful men and women of God. We have two set times of distribution. We distribute the last Saturday of each month at the church from 11am-12:30pm. We then move to Atlantic Beach at 409 30th Ave. (The Ocean Side). We distribute there from 1:30pm-3pm. After the set times, we then help by set appointments. We are so glad to be able to be used in this area. Without thought of race, creed, or background, we minister to the body, then the soul. We have seen many lives changed by the power of God, through this outreach. We expect to double our outreach in 2009. And with a Faithful God, faithful members and ministry partners, we know God has great things in store for our community and church alike. May God bless all involved! |
